Traveling the Underground Railroad is an
integrated interactive unit that allows the students to become a part of our nation's history. The students not only
learn about the Underground Railroad they also take part in simulations that give them a feel for what an escape was really
like.
The students will take a four- day journey
through the Underground Railroad. On this
journey they will discover how slavery came
to be in America, what forces created the
Underground Railroad, symbolism used on
the railroad and famous people who made a
difference.
